coffee rejection and related content

at this year’s family thanksgiving dinner, we presented our hostess with a bag of the mexican decaf coffee we adore. thanks were awarded, but those who were preparing and serving the meal and who were empowered to make all coffee-related decisions, informed us that, “we just set the coffee up!” not sure that the kitchen staff fully understood the magnitude of the contents of the brown paper sack, i clarified by stating, “this is some really fantastic organic decaf” to which kitchen staff member replied, “well, this is from zabar’s (or was it fairway?) so it’s pretty good.”

let it be known that the coffee was quite good. but still.

i have been wondering whether this coffee has been brewed and enjoyed yet. if i had to bet money, i would have to guess that no, it has not. not wanting to encourage any cognitive distortions that promote sad or anxious feelings, i will not pursue this.

please note that the coffee gift was given in a ground format.
